sometimes it takes darkness | 100 x 120 cm | original oil painting

$4,760.00

The first few months we spent in Germany were wet. Clouds that hung low, damp forests and earth. The ground itself, rich in colors from leaves and saturated soil. But the trees and forests remained more neutral. Colorful, yes. But the contrast and richness of tones were different than the earth.

After living among pines for the past few years, the transition back to deciduous forests has been comforting in ways I didn’t expect. And with some many changes and so much uncertainty these past few months, it is the dormant winter forest that has comforted me more. To be reminded of the passing of seasons as we walk and observe the bodies of trees.

For the safety of the painting, the piece will arrive un-stretched and unframed. You will need to have the painting re-stretched by a professional before it will be ready to hang in your home. I know this is an extra expense, so as a courtesy, shipping fees have been waived.
